While Trump accepted the republican nomination during the RNC, rumors of Biden stepping down as the Democratic Party candidate intensify, which adds more uncertainty to the race. In his speech, Trump spoke about lowering taxes, massive deportations and a reversal of Climate friendly policies. The other hot topics on the agenda are: the Ukraine war, where he has pledged to end te conflict within days of being in office, peace in the Middle East, and an iron fist policy with China, including more tariffs on Chinese goods. This is an important one, because as you can see in the chart below, the US is running a big trade deficit with China, and if he intends to lower taxes, and therefore increase the budget deficit, he needs to improve the trade side to avert an economic debacle. The 10 year Treasury can be a good indicator of wether he can implement this policies.
