The first 2024 presidential debate took place yesterday, and according to polls and betting houses, like the one you see below, Trump was declared winner. The big outocome of the night is that none the two candidates that will supposedly fight for the presidency are a great choice, and voters may have to settle for the least bad option. And as of today, that option is the republican nominee. On the economic front, today the Fed’s favorite inflation measure, PCE, will be published and if, as expected, it shows a muted increase in prices, the market may conclude that the Fed will change its bias from neutral to dovish, right in time for the July meeting on July 30th.
