50% of world’s gdp is produced in the green area you see in the chart below, which amounts to 3.6% of the worlds surface. And 4 central banks have control over the majority of the surface. Two of them, the #ECB and the #fed, are fighting inflation and raising rates. The other two, #pboc and #boj are fighting a real estate crisis and a yield curve/currency crisis respectively. All of them are trying to avoid a deep economic recession, wether it’s induced by the central bank or by the excesses of the prior cycle. And all of them have a debt problem, wether it’s sovereign or private, particularly Japan. It may be possible to engineer an economic soft landing, but the margin of error is getting really big. And any mistake, wether by doing too much or too little will be amplified by the debt.
