A sweep

In the early hours of Wednesday November 6th, everything points to a Republican sweep. Trump has secured 277 electoral colleges (270 to win), the senate has 51 republican seats (out of 100) and the only pending time is the House. If you look at the chart below, so far, republicans have gained one seat and reached 197 (218 to win), with a few western states left to count. Now what? First, Harris needs to concede. Even before she does, equity futures are up 2-3%, and Treasury bond yields are up, as republican sweep is seen as inflationary. Second, Trump needs to set up his cabinet. Two key players wil be the Secretary of State and the Treasurer. Geopolitics and National debt are two big priorities for the new president. Third, after three assassination attempts, we need to see Trump inaugurated on January as the 47th president, and have a peaceful government transition. If those three items occur smoothly, the anxiety and tension of the last few months will fade away and it will be business as usual.
